Val is really smart but not the most social character. Despite his cold demeanor he cares a lot about others, but he is no one to show his emotions to the outside. He smiles rarely, but if you know when to look, you can see his soft smiles.designation at Briggs: Val is the head doctor of Briggs. While the other two docs are specialized in automail mechanics and cold climate treatment, he's specialized in treating combat wounds. He also conducts research on medicine.

Their relationship is quite a journey: meet as teenagers and then meet years later. Both despise each others to the point where they can't be in the same room for 5 minutes without arguing. Some things happen which makes them realize the other one isn't THAT bad and they become friends. After some time it becomes a whole rollercoaster of friends with benefits, "shit you mean more to me", getting out of touch and finally becoming lovers but having to keep their relationship secret bc of military law... you get the gist.It's a long story of accepting their feelings, allowing to show weakness and helping each other's with their struggles.//tw homophobia: Val was raised very conservative. For years he struggled with his sexuality, always denying his feelings. Ofc it helped that a certain someone was persistent enough to show him how to accept this part of himself.

Val is the eldest son of the Beauxclaire family. The Beauxclaire's are the second most influencial and whealtiest family in Central City, just after the Armstrong family. Being the main heir, he was always faced with high expectations and generally suffered from his father's hard grip. After finishing his medical studies, Olivier offered him a job as a doctor at Briggs which he gladly accepts in order to build distance between his family and their expectations.

Trivia

• He and Olivier were supposed to marry once he's old enough, at least it was arranged by their parents that way. The only reason he was allowed to go to Briggs is bc his parents thought the two of them "could deepen their relationship"
• Val came to Briggs at 22, yeah he was a fully trained doctor at that age!
• His father wanted him to become a politician (which wouldn't suit him AT ALL)
• He has a sister who he gets along with great. Her name is Anabel and she's a badass.
• Swears a lot. Really. He even surpasses the soldiers at Briggs. By far.
